How to Set Up Data Masks to Hide Personal Details

StatementOrganizer Team · July 5, 2026

Your privacy matters, and StatementOrganizer gives you direct control over it with Data Masks — a simple tool to hide specific personal details wherever they appear in your data.

For example: if your full name is "John Adam Smith" but you don't want this information stored, you can setup a mask (e.g. "MyName1") and this will display MyName1 in all information saved instead of "John Adam Smith".

How to set up a Data Mask:

  1. Go to Settings from the menu at statementorganizer.com, then open the Data Masks tab.
  2. Add a new mask by entering the text you'd like hidden — for example, a name, an email address, or a specific number that appears in your statements.
  3. Choose what it should be replaced with, like asterisks or a custom label.
  4. Save it, and StatementOrganizer will apply the mask automatically wherever that text would otherwise appear.

Data Masks are especially useful if you share reports or exports with someone else — a bookkeeper, a family member, or a financial advisor — and want to keep certain personal details private without manually editing every document yourself.

Because masking happens automatically, you set it up once and it just works going forward, across chats, reports, and exports alike.

This feature sits right between Security and Privacy in your Settings, reflecting how central it is to keeping your information exactly as private as you want it — no more, no less.

Take a moment to set up your own Data Masks at Settings on StatementOrganizer and enjoy extra peace of mind.
